Moving house? Here’s some quick tips!

Moving house can be ultra-stressful. We understand you may not have the time or headspace to read through an entire blog post of advice, so we’ve compiled a punchy list of tips and tricks to help with your move.
First and foremost; remember to stop, breathe and take in what’s happening. Perhaps this is a big positive change in your life, so try to relax and enjoy the process as much as possible!
- Plan ahead: Start planning and organising your move well in advance to avoid any last-minute stress. Create a checklist of tasks and set a timeline for completing them. Watch YouTube videos, listen to podcasts and read blog posts about other people's experiences and learnings. Make a plan A, B and C!

- Notify important contacts: Inform relevant contacts about your change of address, including your post office, utility companies, banks, and insurance providers. Also, update your address with any subscriptions or online accounts. Reach out to family and friends for help and support, especially if you’re expecting a child, or already have children, pets or somebody to look after.

- Take inventory and take photos: Create a detailed inventory of your belongings, especially valuable or fragile items. Take photos before packing to have a record of their condition in case you need to claim back on insurance. Also, take photos of your bookshelves, kitchen shelves and general décor arrangements. This will allow you to quickly unpack your items in your preferred layout.
- Secure important documents: Keep important documents like passports, IDs, birth certificates, and financial records in a secure folder or box that you keep hold of during the move.
